Fast Food Workers Fired After Standing in Lettuce, Posting Photo Online

Lettuce

Three employees of a Burger King franchise in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, have been fired after one of them posted a photo online of someone standing in two bins of the restaurant’s lettuce. The photo was subtitled “this is the lettuce you eat at Burger King.”

The photo shows two plastic containers — called quarter pans in the restaurant business — full of lettuce and sitting on a tile floor. The person in the photo is standing on the lettuce, with one black shoe planted in each pan. The person is cut off at the knees in the image and there is nothing in the photo to suggest where it may have been taken or who the person could be..

Or so the perpetrators thought.

Users of the image sharing website 4chan, where the photo was posted, figured out that the anonymous photographer had forgotten to remove GPS location information from the photo.

The outraged 4chan users then began forwarding the photo to news outlets in the town where the restaurant is located, about 20 miles east of Cleveland.

“Enjoy getting fired OP,” wrote one 4chan user on the site, along with the address of the restaurant, according to a screen shot posted by 19 Action News in Cleveland. The term OP refers to “original poster,” or the Burger King employee who originally posted the photo.

“And this is why retarded losers like OP make a living working at fast food joints,” wrote another.

Burger King announced that they have fired three employees involved in the incident.

“Food safety is a top priority at all Burger King restaurants and the company maintains a zero-tolerance policy against any violations such as the one in question,” the fast food chain announced in a press release.

Shocking!  That’s why I keep out of fast food joints.  If staff aren’t properly paid you can’t expect them to take pride.
